Take part in a day of fun, challenge, empowerment and celebration of life!
The 2012 Million Steps for SMA is an exciting chance to raise much needed awareness and funds for Spinal Muscular Atrophy- the number one genetic killer of infants under the age of two. Unfortunately, 1 in 35 people indiscriminately carry the defective SMN gene. This neuromuscular disease is characterised by degeneration of motor neurons, removing an individuals’ ability to walk. Participate at your own level; walk, run or roll in memory or honour of individuals touched by the crippling disease. Join us for a day of sun, yummy sausage sizzle, food stalls and much more!

The Spinal Muscular Atrophy Association of Australia Inc., is a self funded charity supporting families and individuals affected by Spinal Muscular Atrophy. They provide extensive family support and assistive technology to members that hospitals fail to provide. As there is no treatment much less a cure, funding also contributes to Australian research. Should you wish to learn more or kindly contribute to SMA support services, please visit: www.smaaustralia.org.au
